Today's Activity: Hang on to your seats! We're moving on to learning how to write an effective, analytical five paragraph essay. This type of essay is crucial to know for the remainder of your educational career. I know it may seem overwhelming, but we will get through it together! Baby steps!
I've provided video tutorials breaking down how to write effective body paragraphs, as well as introductions and conclusions for your essay. Watch them carefully and be sure to take notes in the provided documents. I PROMISE IT WILL HELP YOU!
You should be prewriting your body paragraphs in the Guided Essay Outline section of the doc BEFORE jumping in and writing your full blown essay. I will be available for proofreading/advising during our class periods. All you have to do is ask. My recommendation is to have me look over your writing BEFORE you submit it that way you are ensuring that you're doing it correctly!
Yes, we will be using our week to WRITE the essay IN CLASS. Take your time, plan, outline, and be thorough. Rushing through this and submitting it day one will not fair well and you will not be given a chance to resubmit. Seriously, use your classtime to plan your writing, work out the body paragraphs using the formulas discussed in my videos, getting feedback and THEN submit it.
All essays are due, uploaded to CLASSROOM,
November 3rd & 4th (A & B Day Respectively), 2:15pm.
