Yes ladies and gentlemen...it's that time again! Quarterly Assessments!
You will be wrapping up your unit project for The Five People You Meet in Heaven. Please note that you had a total of 4 in class days to work on the project...therefore, if you or anyone in your group is sitting doing nothing at any point, five points will be deducted (from both the group and individual grade) each day it happens. Don't be that person! Utilize class time! Bring whatever you need to work on it to class or you're welcome to use anything I have here.
Once projects are presented we move right into reviewing and then Quarterlies!
Just to give you an overview:
Monday- work on project
Tuesday- present project
Wednesday- review for Quarterly
Thursday- review for Quarterly/Period 10 Quarterly
Friday- Period 1, 2, 3 Quarterly
Monday- Period 6/7 Quarterly
We are approaching the end of our novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven, as well as our time together in Freshman English. It has been an absolute pleasure having you as my students.
Keep in mind your Vocabulary Project is due June 12th as well as your Marking Period 4 Extra Credit. I will not be accepting lates- get them to me some how!
We will wrap up our week with the conclusion of our novel, some video clips, and one finaly project.
Try to stay cool in the heat wave!
Yes, you read correctly! Summer Reading!
You're probably saying to yourself "Why do I have to spend my summer reading?!" But believe it or not, reading during summer vacation has it's perks!
Summer is a great time to catch up on reading about some of your favorite topics. It’s time to let your imagination take you on a journey. Reading for pleasure can help turn you into a life-long learner. For some, reading also can be a lot of fun! It can be a time to get cozy in an environment that is conducive to your reading. So grab your favorite snack, choose your spot, sit back, and enjoy the story.
What are the benefits?
Success breeds success, so don’t let the summer slide catch you by surprise. Start your own book club with a group of your friends. Meet at your house, the pool, or the coffee shop. Embrace the experience and read, read, read!
I will attached the REQUIRED summer reading task to this posting as well as hand it out in class. Please see me before or after class with questions.
