Congrats! You've made it to the 2nd marking period! This is a great opportunity to start fresh-new seats, new assignments, new grades, and hey look at that a NEW unit! We're embarking on the first novel of the year- Charles Dickens' Great Expectations!
My mother always said, "Education is the antidote to poverty". That couldn't be more perfect for this novel! Great Expectations tells the story (in 3 parts) of Pip, an orphan boy, who wants nothing more than to be successful and wealthy in life. Of course on his journey to greatness he faces some challenges and learns a great deal . . . . all of which form him into the man he becomes at the end of the novel.
Remember this week is the tail end of Spirit Week! We have RHS Logo Day on Monday, and Class Color Day on Tuesday. Also Tuesday is our annual Clash of the Classes Event- 6pm in the gym. Admission is only $3! Afterwards we have the Homecoming Bonfire where we willl announce the 2012 Rocket King and Queen!
