That is so odd. I don't know what happened to my last two posts!
Anyhoo, we're off on a ROAD TRIP! And subsequently our next unit: The Canterbury Tales!
The Cantebury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer is about a group of people who go on a pilgrimage or road trip to a religious site called Canterbury. Think about where people go nowadays on road trips and what you do along the ride. That's in essence the premise of the book! Now Chaucer wrote over 20 tales in the original, we will only be covering 5- including the Prologue with a TON of FUN along the way!

Now I'm not talking the Jolly Green Giant!
We're moving into our next unit: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight!
Let's set up the story:
It's New Year's Eve and everyone is enjoying a feast at King Arthur's court. A strange figure, referred to only as the Green Knight, pays the court an unexpected visit. He challenges the group's leader or any other brave soul to a game: The Green Knight will allow whomever accepts the challenge to strike him with his own ax, on the condition that the challenger find him in exactly one year to receive a blow in return.
We will also go into the idea of chivalry. Many people in society feel that chivalry is dead. What do you think?
